Fitchicks Go To.. Versus Coffee!

The Fitchicks checked out Versus Coffee a trendy spot on Adelaide just East of the Financial District. The space is cozy and modern with a sizeable patio for the location. They serve De Mello Coffee and a range of teas from Genuine Tea Toronto.  De Mello Coffee Roasters is one of our favourites in the city for exceptional coffee bean blends and Genuine Tea was just voted “Best Tea 2018” in Now Magazine Toronto.  On tap they have Nitro Cold Brew and Kombucha.

What caught our eye online was Versus Coffee’s unique selection of lattes like their signature Camp Fire Latte infused with maple and topped with brûléed marshmallows! Perhaps even more exciting, and definitely instagramable, is their colourful latte art. You can request your latte to come topped with one of their beautiful designs.

Keep in mind the rainbow latte art is not mentioned anywhere on their menu; you have to be aware of their secret talent and specifically request it for it to appear on your beverage of choice.

One of their newest items is their Blue Algae Tea Latte that you may have seen trending online. It wasn’t yet available when we visited but we tried an assortment of delicious drinks.

Sofia: I had the Matcha Latte topped with a rainbow peacock from the secret latte art menu. It was a bold latte, rich in matcha flavour. A great option for rainy or chilly days.

Andrea: For a second I wondered why on earth I ordered my standard chai latte with so many other exciting options on the menu! I was excited to see it come with colourful latte art to make it extra special. That said, I think it’s really fun to order the same thing consistently at different cafes to truly see how they stack up. 😉 This was the best chai latte I can remember having in years, and still felt indulgent and out-of-the-ordinary for me. I appreciated the full menu of dairy and non-dairy choices, and opted for soy milk. The latte was silky and spicy but really balanced – even all the way to the last few drops.

Sofia: Next time we go I want to try the Beetroot Latte our friend had which was apparently very tasty. The service was great and I appreciated the barista taking the time to walk me through all the unique options on the menu. It’s a great spot to meet friends for a relaxing catch up date.

Andrea: The staff were really friendly, and the light bites on the menu looked delicious too. I would definitely grab an avocado toast and another latte, but I also think their organic teas look amazing! I look forward to trying the lavender sencha.

Check out their beautiful latte art on Instagram!
