If you’re looking to try something new and ensure all your guests want the recipe after tasting it, this one’s for you! My Mulled Wine Cranberry Sauce encompasses festive fall flavours into a mildly sweet sauce that serves as the perfect side-kick to your stuffed turkey. When choosing the red wine opt for something smooth, I like Bodacious Cabernet Sauvignon.
Ingredients
- 2 packs of cranberries
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1 cup of red wine
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1/2 tsp all spice
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Optional add in for a a cranberry sauce with more of a Sangria feel:
- 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries
Directions
- Wash cranberries
- Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil
- Turn the heat down to medium low and continue monitoring and stirring for 15 minutes or until mixture thickens.
