Toronto now has a Starbucks Reserve Bar, located at the Shops of Don Mills (1090 Don Mills Rd). What is a Starbucks Reserve Bar? For starters it’s significantly bigger than your average Starbucks, 3,200 square feet, with ample seating and a cozy atmosphere. It’s a location that not only serves the brand’s most exclusive coffees, it offers coffee “experiences”.
You can sample three Starbucks Reserve coffees with their “origin flight” and see if you’re able to taste all of the subtle flavour notes. Or there is also the “brew comparison flight” where you can try one of their small-lot coffees prepared two different ways and discover which method you prefer.

The journey the coffee beans took before arriving to Toronto.
For example, I learned that Ethiopian coffee rarely comes from a single farm but one of the options the reserve bar was featuring, “Sun-Dried Ethiopian Kayon Mountain Farm”, is an exception. The dedicated farmers of Kayon manage every step of the process. They employ extensive pruning, and interestingly half of their land is used for shade trees.
These measures help create an amazing coffee with notes of lemon, lavender, and black tea.
The baristas are very knowledgable and will be happy to answer any questions you may have; they give great recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask. You’ll be a coffee connoisseur in no time!
If there is a line when you visit, a staff member will walk over and greet you with the new menu to look over while you wait.
There are so many delicious options not available at other locations. The menu will also get updated each week with new features.
They even have ice-cream! Hello Affogato!
My new favourite is the “Hazelnut Bianco Latte” made with hazelnut praline infused milk and small-lot espresso. It’s subtly sweet and nutty, without drowning out the coffee.
The “Nitro Cloud” is another great option for those who like their coffee bold and flavourful. It features Nitro cold brew topped with cascara-infused foam and a sprinkle of cascara sugar.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
